Static Control for Printing Operations
TAKK static eliminators mounted over printing press feeder and delivery piles and rolls, removes static electricity to improve registration and correct misfeeds. Quality and production are also greatly improved in sheeting, folding, collating and printing on all types of presses and other equipment. Dust particles are eliminated in photographic darkrooms, in stripping, scanning and other pre-press operations to guarantee increased printing quality.
Digital Printing
The digital printing process dries out the substrate creating a high static charge, plus the high speed can generate additional static. The static causes print defects and overspray; and sometimes causes print head clogging failure.
Installing the static eliminator at the entrance and exit of the press will neutralize this charge.

Sheet Fed Printing
On a sheet fed press, static charges are generated by the friction as one sheet is dragged across the top of another. This causes the sheets to stick together creating misfeeds, multiple sheet pick-up, registration problems, and press jams.
Installing a static eliminator to blow ionized air between the top sheet and the stack eliminates the charge and prevents sticking and jamming.

Folders
Static electricity can cause a number of problems on paper folding machines. Static charges are generated as one sheet is moved across the top of the stack causing the sheets to stick together creating misfeeds and paper jams. Installing a static eliminator to blow ionized air between the top sheet and the stack eliminates the charge and prevents sticking and jamming.
A static neutralizing bar, mounted just ahead of the paper stack, will insure that the individual sheets move properly as they pass from the paper stack to the in-feed of the folding machine.
The friction generated by the folding operation creates an electrostatic charge again on the surface of the paper and can cause problems at the delivery end of the folding machine. A static bar will neutralize any static charges on the folded sheets as they are moved into the completed stack.

Winding
During the winding operation, as the web is pulled from the roll and the material separates, a static charge is created. This static attracts airborne dust and contaminates causing rejects, waste and operator shocks.
On both unwind and rewind applications, installing a static eliminator on top of the roll will neutralize the charge and prevent contamination and shock.

Hot Stamping
Hot stamping incorporates the use of substrates, dies and foils to create graphics. The substrate accepting the foil can carry an electrostatic charge and repel the proper application of the foil stamp. Due to this static, the finished product that may not be uniform or the foil may not completely adhere to the substrate surface, resulting in a defective piece.
