Electrostatic Generators and Charging Bars

TAKK Electrostatic Generators and Charging Bars are an excellent, economical method of electrostatic bonding/pinning that is effective, simple to operate, and non-marking to material surfaces—through the bonding force of positive and negative ions (static electricity). Through the use of our static electricity generator, materials statically charge similar or disimilar materials. This then creates a temporary adhesion between the materials which negates the need for other processes such as strapping or gluing. Simply put, our electrostatic generators offer quality production without the mess thanks to temporary bonding.

The system consists of a Static Generator and one or more Charging Bars. TAKK Static Generators are available in positive and negative output voltage. The static generator then generates a static charge up to 30kV (30,000 volts). The Charging Bars then emit the current in an ion field and electrostatically charge the material creating the temporary adhesion. Static Charging Bars are available in compact multi-point probes and various length charging bar styles all powered by positive or negative polarity static generators.

Typical applications include a wide variety of manufacturing and processing operations: In-Mold Labeling, Non-Adhesive Laminating, Multi-Layer Plow Feeders, Bindery Insertions, Web Splicing, Printing ESA, removing air from wicketed bags, and other applications where temporary bonding and pinning of materials is required. In-mold labeling, in particular, conserves resources by omitting the need for seperate production tasks such as an extra labeling.
