As various materials - plastic totes, foam boards, case packs - ride along conveyors, electrostatic charges are generated on the conveyor belt and the conveyed materials. The result is static discharge to operators or line sensors. Static shocks to operators can cause serious injury while discharge to line sensors can cause materials to be misdirected or belt jams.
